Where aspiration meets determination

Tanya began her career in accounting and finance for Fortune 100 companies and quickly rose as a finance executive managing complex businesses and transactions. For the past 20 years she has brought that business acumen to her work in the nonprofit sector. Tanya knows how to meet the unique challenges of leading employees and volunteers to a vision, building a brand, raising money, creating infrastructure, and growing a sustainable organization able to meet its mission. 

She's served in a range of positions from volunteer to executive, donor to solicitor. As a Founding Partner and Board Chair of the Children’s Science Center, the first interactive, hands-on science museum in Northern Virginia – she saw that project’s turnaround from a languishing idea with limited cash reserves to a viable and thriving organization. She's worked with large national nonprofits like, Year Up National Capital Region, where she led the development team to exceed their $2M goal, achieved 84% donor retention and saw a nearly 50% increase in individual donor gifts. Having been both client and consultant, Tanya’s 360 perspective serves her well with nonprofits looking for next-level success, whether that’s starting something from scratch or helping an established organization reach even higher. 

Tanya is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, a certified public accountant, and holds a BA in Economics and Business from Lafayette College, a Social Impact Partnership Design certification from Georgetown University, and a LeanSixSigma Black Belt from Villanova University. She is a Founding Member and Past Chair of the Business Women’s Giving Circle, a component fund at the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia which is focused on supporting girls and young women in STEM through collective impact grants. She's served on the Advisory Committee for Community Wealth Building and as a reviewer for the Catalogue for Philanthropy. Tanya has strong ties to the Greater Washington region as a graduate of Leadership Fairfax and a Trustee of the Potomac School.
